Nasr Dramatic Society
Nasr Dramatic Society was started in 1980, to nurture the talent of young budding artists.
The club puts up plays every year, which are enacted by the students making them familiar with various aspects of theatre. During the club meetings the students are given the opportunity to showcase their talent. The students who are sorted into different groups are given different situations to present impromptu acts.
Eminent theatre personalities are invited to speak about all aspects of theatre – acting, scripting, production etc.
During the month of October 2022, Nasr Dramatic Society invited Mr. Jonas David an eminent actor and theatre personality to address the students. He conducted a workshop and familiarized the studentswith different elements of organizing a play. Topics were given and students enacted on the given situations.
The club aims to develop confidence in the members, to speak, learn to modulate voice and present dialogues. The students overcome stage fear too. By putting upskits written by the students themselves, brings out their creativity.
NDS strives to raise a generation that understands values and support theatre’s place in modern society.
