Nature Club

Communicating with nature is good for a child’s psychological and physical well-being. It can help reduce stress and improve concentration of the child. Keeping this in mind, the Nasr Nature Club focuses on helping the students to appreciate nature and raise awareness about the consequences of human activity on the natural world. Students are provided an opportunity to learn about native flora and fauna and the impact of our actions on the environment.

Nature club conducts activities such as best out of waste, treasure hunt, nature art, environmental quiz, paper craft, poster making,making of bird cages, planting trees and educational field trips. It also educates students about segregation of waste and environmental pollution through presentations.

Nature club students visited KBR National park to observe ‘International Tigers Day’ organized by Telangana Forest Department, Hyderabad Tiger Conservation Society and WCS-India.The programme focused on creating awarenesson the significance of conserving tigers as Tiger is regarded asan ‘Umbrella animal.’Students were explained about the most popular methods of determining tiger census such as camera trapping and pugmark technique.

The Club in association with the ‘FRIENDS OF SNAKES SOCIETY’ organized Snake awareness programme at Mrugavani National Park. As a part of the show several species of both venomous and non venomous snakes such as King cobra, Russel’s viper, Krait, Water snake, Double headed snake, Rat snake etc.were shown and the students were explained about their behavior and several myths surrounding these creatures. The students were educated about the important role of snakes in maintaining the stability of the ecosystem. Students were also informed how to react when one encountersa snake and the best first aid to be practiced incase of a snake bite.

Thus, Nature club tries to educate students by making them realize that ‘Nature has enough for everyone’s need but not for everyone’s greed’.
