Space Club

Space Club

“The inspirational value of the space program is probably of far greater importance to education than any input of dollars… A whole generation is growing up which has been attracted to the hard disciplines of science and engineering by the romance of space.” (Arthur C. Clarke, First on the Moon, 1970)

Nasr Space club is a window into the beauty of space and teaching the journey of humankind’s exploration of other worlds is a powerful tool to inspire and engage interest in science and engineering. The club contributes to one’s growth as it teaches students about our environment and the space through fun filledmethods and develops their interest in outer space.

There are many fun interactive activities taken up by the space club every year.

Discussions on new space related inventions have encouraged not only sharing of knowledge but also made the sessions more interactive and helped build confidence to speak in public. Space Sudoku engages students while keeping their brains active. Cross word puzzles have acted as a great team building exercise, increasing the sense of togetherness in the group. These activities have helped develop enthusiasm towards space and related topics, as well as increased the interest towards quantitative subjects.

The visit to the Birla Planetarium and Space Museum was well received by the students. The spacewalk gave a glimpse of the outer world and had left many students in awe. Talks about the space shuttle and it’s working was also another very interesting topic of discussion. The space museum gave the children a deeper dive into the history of space travel by the humankind.

The programs organised by the Space Club being interesting and thought provoking, attracted the students to take active part and develop interest in space exploration.
